Pico dos Barcelos
The Madeira Wine Excursion starts with the pickup from Funchal Cruiseship port.
High above the hotel zone is a tree topped belvedere. Pico dos Barcelos has an observation point on the edge of Funchal, it is 355m (1165 ft). There’s a magnificent view across Funchal from the top of the viewpoint. We then take the winding road, up through the eucalyptus forest until Eira do Serrado, absorbing the picturesque view of the peaks
Funchal Market - Mercado do Lavadores
Funchal `s Vibrant main market, the mercado dos lavradores, sells a colourful array of fish, exotic fruits and local crafts, Housed in a yellow building faced with azulejos, it was designed in the 1930´s by Edmundo Tavares.Flowers sellers in traditonal island costume have colonised the entrance to the market.Their stalls sell keenly priced cut flowers and bulbs tubs or delicate orchid blooms might tempt you to buy a souvenir of the island´s horticultural richness. in the fish hall, there are scenes to turn the stomach.If the razor sharp teeth and large staring eyes of th escabbard fish. For more pleasanter sights and frangances head for the upper floor, with its lavish displays of seasonal fruits and vegatables.
Camara de Lobos
A small fishing village. It is one of the island’s most atmospheric fishing villages. The village was named after monk seals which frequent visitors to the harbour. The centre of the village, with its whitewashed houses, shops and bar where you can taste the local drink poncha, remains instantly likeable. The stony beach is filled with colourful beached fishing boats .Winston Church choose this village to paint in 1949.
Madeira Wine Lodge
If you want to sample some of the local wine, you will see huge barrels in the glass-fronted modern wine lodge, Henrique e Henrique. Dating from 1850, the lodge owns the largest vineyards on the island and produces some of the best madeira wines around. Founded in 1850, the firm of henrique & henrique has won a string of medals and awards in recent years for its attempts to dispel the fusty image of Madeira Wine

After visiting Camara de Lobos, we drive further up to the worlds second highest and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775 ft).The name Cabo Girão comes from Zarco first exploration of Madeira coast because he got as far as this point and did an about-turned (girão) back to Funchal. You can enjoy the magnificent views of Camara de Lobos and Funchal. At the foot of the cliff the locals made little plots, of vines and vegetables, forming an incredible landscape.
Toboggan -Ride or visit the Monte Church
The Monte Toboggan are sliding in a wicker basket mounted on wooden runners, its is possible to cover the 2 km (1 mile) descent from Monte to Funchal in 10 Minutes.The Trip is made by Thousands every Year,Fascinated by the experience of traveling at speed down a public highway on a wooden sled.
